Chagas disease is still on the World Health Organisation’s list of neglected tropical diseases. Efforts to save this disease from oblivion, however, are increasing and the scientific community has a crucial role to play in ensuring that this happens. Research is providing new scientific evidence that will help to fill the knowledge gap that has kept Chagas disease in the dark for so long.
